Marriage Law

So I was looking over the bible... and remembered that in class, we talked about the Levirate Law.. in which it insists that a brother was responsible for creating children with his deceased brother's wife... Back then this was customary, today this would be frowned upon. and I suppose frowned upon is the wrong phrase.. to me it just does not seem politically correct, even though I know it happens.. I guess it just crosses some boundaries in my mind... Even the story in which the daughter-in-law dresses as a hussy and sleeps with her father in law... it baffles my mind..
